Which qualification is right for you?

GCSEs and International GCSEs

A GCSE, or General Certificate of Secondary Education, is a qualification taken by most UK students at age 14 to 16. They’re normally studied for two years with final exams sat at the end.

An International GCSE is offered in many independent and private schools in the UK and are recognised globally as equivalent to GCSEs.

GCSEs and International GCSEs provide essential skills and knowledge and are an important qualification to have for continuing your studies or getting a job.

Many employers, colleges and universities will ask that you have a specific number of GCSEs/International GCSEs, particularly in subjects like English, Maths and Science, so it can be well worth your while taking the time to achieve these qualifications.

You don’t need any previous qualifications to enrol on our GCSE/International GCSE courses, so whether you’re looking to address gaps in your school education or prepare for college or university, we’re here to help you achieve your goals.

A Levels

A Levels are non-compulsory qualifications studied by many UK high school students aged between 16 and 19. They are normally studied over two years and usually focus on academic subjects, compared to vocational qualifications like BTECs and NVQ which are more practical.

They're essential if you want to go on to study for a degree at university as most courses will require specific A Levels or a combination of A Levels. They can also be a requirement when applying for certain types of training or employment.

A Levels are a strong qualification to have even if you’ve not decided whether you want to go to university or what career path you'll choose, as they’re a good way of keeping your options open.

You don’t need any previous qualifications to enrol on most of our A Level courses, but it can be helpful to have at least a pass in your chosen subjects at GCSE level.
